MOBILE Bike Rental's Radmila Avramovic was on the internet recently when she stumbled across an interesting site at www.industrialrelations.nsw.gov.au/holidays.
After looking at the site she thought about the prospects of Wollongong getting its own afternoon public holiday.The site explains what it is and Ms Avramovic thought such a holiday might be used as a good promotional tool to celebrate Wollongong and the Illawarra.As a boy originally from Muswellbrook, which has two such holidays a year, the idea resonated with me.Where I grew up, the whole town would go to the races at Skellatar Park, where they would display a sense of community that attracted visitors from all over the state.
